Additional detail related to upcoming changes to file exchange processes (MFT)

Passwords

EDI passwords need to meet the following minimal complexity requirements and rules:
Requirement or rule Details
Password length

Minimum of 14 characters

Password complexity

Minimum of:

  • One lowercase letter

  • One uppercase letter

  • One special character

  • One number

Password rules
  • The password cannot contain the username.

  • The password cannot be the same as the previous 12 passwords.

Password expiration

Passwords expire after 12 consecutive months, regardless of activity.

  • 90 days post-MFT user migration

  • Every 365 days after the 90-day change to adopt this new policy

Locked accounts

Accounts are locked after three failed login attempts.

Resetting the password unlocks an account. This can be done via self-service.

Inactive accounts

Accounts are locked after 90 consecutive days of inactivity. This lock blocks the next login attempt.

Reset the EDI password to unlock the account.

This can be done via self-service.
Disabled accounts

An Availity Administrator has the ability to disable accounts. The user cannot undo this with self-service. An administrator is required to re-enable the user account.
